John Mercer
Partner / Director
John has over 30 years’ experience working in Chartered Accounting in New Zealand and specialises in compliance services, and business advice for owner managed businesses. He has a particular interest in advising to the medical/dental and legal professions. John was admitted to Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 1986 and has previously worked in Canada, England and Scotland.
Outside the office, he enjoys surfing and sailing.

Paul Singleton
Partner / Director
Paul has nearly 20 years’ experience in the accounting industry with a particular focus on taxation matters for companies (local and international), trusts and individuals. Paul has a Master of Taxation Studies from Auckland University. Paul has gained experience at the “big four” chartered accountancy firms and was admitted to Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 2007.
Outside the office, Paul enjoys motorsports, badminton and family time with his two children.

Nicki Fraser
Chartered Accountant
Nicki joined Singleton Mercer in 2015, following a career working as a Chartered Accountant in NZ, the UK and Asia. She has specialised in small to medium business accounting both in CA firms and in the industry and most recently completed a four-year role as finance manager of a New Zealand Not-for-profit organisation. She has been a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand since 1994, and balances work with a busy family, a passion for cooking, and school fundraising.

James McQuaid
Chartered Accountant
James joined Singleton Mercer in September 2020 having worked for a number of accountancy firms large and small on the other side of the bridge for more than 20 years. Since moving to New Zealand from the UK, he has worked on clients of all sizes and from a wide variety of industries. Married with four kids he enjoys most sports and fixing up old cars, finally making use of his engineering degree.

Michelle Robson
Chartered Accountant
Michelle has been a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand since 2001 and has over 15 years’ accounting experience working in New Zealand, Ireland and the UK. She has both corporate and individual taxation experience gained within various “big four” chartered accountancy firms and large international multinational companies. More recently she has worked in management accounting positions for small NZ owned businesses and within the education sector. Outside of the office, Michelle has a passion for tennis, enjoys travelling, cruising, and spending time with her husband and their two children.

Paul du Faur
Chartered Accountant
Paul has been a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand for over twenty years, in both in CA Firms and in industry. Working in the UK and in New Zealand. Outside the office, he enjoys paddling his surf ski, playing tennis, home DIY, and spending time with his two boys.

Jennifer McIndoe
Chartered Accountant
Jennifer was admitted to the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 1994. She had 12 years chartered accounting experience in New Zealand before having children. She now works part-time helping clients with Xero, MYOB and wages. Jennifer served as the Treasurer of local community groups for several years.

Shannon Mena-Levin
Reception
Shannon comes from a background of customer service, sales and more recently crewing on super yachts. Her attention to detail and methodical planning will ensure your needs will be her focus. She has two beautiful daughters and is passionate about food and wine and loves to cook.

Michael Gannaway
Consultant
Michael was admitted as a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 1981 and is now a retired member. He has considerable experience in business and has had a number of appointments as a professional independent director and trustee. Michael undertakes special project work and is available by appointment.
Outside the office, he enjoys the marine environment, cruising, fishing and scuba diving.

Jacqueline Beetham
Accounting Technician
Jacqueline joined Singleton Mercer in August 2012 having worked in Chartered Accounting firms since 2001. She has extensive experience in Xero and MYOB and has served on a school Board of Trustees and as a treasurer of a local community group.
